The Lockmaster

This zine from April 2021 features some little vignettes from Marc's job as a canal lockmaster, probably when he's in his 60s. Marc is a character (and the love interest) in a short comic I have been developing, which takes place a few years later. The main character, Edwin (featured in my zine The Swamp Creature) lives on a houseboat and when he ends up at Marc's canal lock, their old friendship is rekindled and, now as old men, a missed opportunity is taken. (This is an early version of Marc's design, which has evolved a little!)

Downloads include a PDF and printable file with folding instructions. This zine's original form is a 6-page folded mini and you can print out your own copy to fold at home!
